After the incident, Pol. Lt. Col. Suwit Chuaythewarit, aged 56, and Pol. Sgt. Dom Chuaythewarit, father and son, teachers at the Border Patrol Police School, Ban Tueng Ngo, Pathum Mechanical Engineering, Wan Anusorn 13, Border Patrol Police Division 44 (BPP.44), were ambushed by assailants who detonated a bomb that was secretly placed in a culvert on the surface of the Si Sakhon-Luboh Yuering road in Narathiwat Province, and were shot and killed on January 14, 2025, just 2 days before Teacher's Day.
